For paired samples:

t=dˉsd/nt = \frac{\bar{d}}{s_d / \sqrt{n}}

Where:

  • XΛ‰1,XΛ‰2\bar{X}_1, \bar{X}_2 = sample means
  • s12,s22s_1^2, s_2^2 = sample variances
  • n1,n2n_1, n_2 = sample sizes
  • dΛ‰\bar{d} = mean of differences (paired)
  • sds_d = standard deviation of differences
